Occupational aptitude as a qualified teacher or teacher’s assistant
It may be possible to work in a daycare facility for children without state certification.
State certification must be distinguished from the recognition of occupational aptitude as a qualified teacher or teacher’s assistant corresponding to the facility in a Bavarian daycare facility for children.
Whether or not an applicant has the required occupational aptitude to work as a qualified teacher or teacher’s assistant in a specific daycare facility for children in accordance with § 16 sec. 6 of the Child Education Regulation (AVBayKiBiG) is usually reviewed by the respective youth welfare office.
In doing so, the youth welfare office must comply with the entries of the so-called daycare centre occupation list of the Bavarian State Youth Welfare Office.
Upon application, the Bavarian State Youth Welfare Office can be requested to provide a non-binding assessment of the training qualification or degree.
This assessment provides information on whether or not an applicant can work as a qualified teacher or teacher’s assistant in a daycare facility for children for one, multiple or all fields of care (creché, kindergarten, after-school care, inclusive groups).
You can obtain more detailed information on this subject from the Bavarian State Youth Welfare Office.
